Steve_T
Had some time to burn this afternoon, and have four of these brand new 4inch lights that were intended for the Jeep just sitting around, so, threw together a quick mount out of angled aluminum. Just had to drill four holes, two for the fogs themselves, and the other two just use the license plate holes. Not sure if I like them or not, tell me what you think! jkeaton
Tacky, IMO, but whatever floats your boat. dhh3
Steve_T
I'm thinking the same, but had to try it, as I have the lights laying around. I may try behind the lower grille, so they're hidden. This is more of a, bored and looking for something to do with the car until my bulbs arrive... dhh3
carritt11
If your looking to use the license plate mount try on the bottom so the lights sit inside the lower grille. It would be a little more stealth. Not sure how well the bracket would hold up to the weight at highway speed though. dhh3
SeanTacular
Mount those bad boys on the rear roof pointing backwards to blind tail gaters! Lol. On the plate it makes it look like a under cover cop car lol dhh3
Journeyman425
Sorry, I'm not a fan either. But I don't even have a front license plate on my DJ even though they are required in NY. Left it off my 300M, too - I just like the clean look of the front end without the plate. jkeaton and dhh3
Steve_T
They're already off! It was just a quick and easy, while I was bored, project. It was bugging me to see how they would have looked, so went ahead and did it. Journeyman425, jkeaton and dhh3

newrollo
Nice job Steve. I agree about the tacky. But at 90* they would almost disappear. Lower they would work too, like you said. Always liked you Canadians (especially Ontario). Tinkering is how we progress, thanks for trying, and for the pics.
Steve_T
So here's my next idea. Since Dodge uses the same fog lights over several platforms, including the Jeep JK, Rigid (and many knockoffs), sell brackets to replace the factory fogs with their dually D2, or any 4" fog (like the ones I have). I may go ahead and buy a set of brackets to see if they will work. Found a cheap set of brackets on Ebay, but have yet to pull the trigger. Thoughts anyone? If I go ahead, I will start a new thread. Cheers! SeanTacular and carritt11
Steve_T
In theory, it should work, as I found a thread where it was done on a new Cherokee. http://jeepcherokeeclub.com/385-jeepcherokeeclub-com-how-s/102953-rigid-industries-d2-led-lights-install.html#/forumsite/20486/topics/102953?page=
jkeaton
If you get it to work, you'd be the first Journey with fog lights that are actually useful. Interested in seeing the results.
Steve_T
Well, I will be starting a new thread soon. Found the Rigid mounting brackets on Amazon and pulled the trigger last night. *edit* Cancelled my Amazon order. Since my lights are knockoffs, the Rigid mounts wouldn't have worked. The difference is that the Rigid dually's mounting brackets attach low on the light housing, whereas mine are in the middle of the light. I ended up buying a similar mount off Ebay.
