Mark Brasher
My wife's 2015 Journey has about 12k miles. It runs fine and we are happy with it, but it has had the same issue twice now. The check engine light comes on, and the car shakes when idling. It feel like low power and I swear it was going to die on a freeway offramp last night waiting for the traffic light to change. It has done this twice now. The check engine light comes on and then the car starts shaking when idling. The next day the check engine light is on but by the time we go to the dealer, the light is off and the shaking is gone. The dealer naturally cannot replicate the problem. Any ideas on what the issue is? Thanks in advance. I don't want my wife and small kids to have to wait on the side of the freeway if their Dodge craps out on them. jkeaton
Take it to an autoparts store and have the codes read. They are still stored even though the light is off. Sounds like a misfire. Report the code here and we can begin to assist you. dhh3
OhareFred
One would think the dealer would do that....hopefully they just didnt clear the stored code on you. dhh3
jkeaton
I went through this with our 09. Read the code, found out what it was (intake runner valve), cleared it and took it in and they told me that can't do anything unless that CEL is on. I was like come on, read the code. Had to wait till the light was on again to take it in and they would do something about it. dhh3
Journeyman425
We had a Town and Country minivan in our shop last week with the same complaint as yours. Light was off when I got it. We replaced the crankshaft position sensor after researching the problem and so far it has been fine. jkeaton and dhh3
