nocturnal
Yesterday took off from a stoplight...nothing crazy just normal take off...after a couple hundred feet, car jumps from drive to neutral with a very audible pop and the revs go to 3k...i took my foot off the gas and revs stayed there. Talked to the dealer this morning and they haven't had anyone else say anything about it. So, anyone else? *and no i didn't knock it into neutral myself as i dont rest my arm there while driving. Thanks chris
brwengel
You're not going to believe this, but the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I was driving along when the car jumped into neutal and even after I left off of the gas the engine continued to rev at 3,000 rpm's, it eventually returned to an idle. My wife insisted that I had bumped it into neutral, but I know that I didn't. My Journey has about 7800 miles on it, so I guess I'll wait and see if it happens again. The dealer should be able to hook up to the computer and look at the history to see if there is a record of the event. Let me know how you make out with your dealer. erbch
Yeah, it seems like this and issue... I have 14000 miles and it does this to me every so often. To right at 3k and then takes it time to drop... Hmm We will see.
jamieroselle318
I'm glad to see some one else with the Journey recognizes this as a problem!! With the slightest touch on the shift while driving the car will go into neutral or REVERSE! I completely understand that going into neutral is what they say is normal but how can Chrysler tell me reverse is normal too and the car is operating as design. I really feel this is very dangerous. I have been to many different Chrysler dealers and not one will help. I really feel someone is going to get hurt and this was not made properly and should be repaired. Thank you, Fran
laura:o)
Wow - be careful! I've had my journey for about one year and thankfully this is not an issue for me. Getting the run around is not pleasant. Good luck!
