vertex
2011 Journey Mainstreet, 3.6 Pentastar w/6 -speed transmission. When I press the accelerator even a modest amount (moving or from standing still, it doesn't matter), I hear a grinding or rubbing sound. Not sure what it could be, and it's hard for me to tell where it's coming from. Also have notices a marked reduction in gas mileage. Otherwise no complaints for this car. jkeaton
Could be anything from the brakes dragging to bad CV joints. time to pull off the front wheels (and back) and inspect everything. dhh3
vertex
My experience has been that cv joints only make a noise when turning, this noise occurs even when I'm going straight. dhh3
jkeaton
At any rate, pull the wheels off and inspect. dhh3
2late4u
check your front wheel bearings, my daughters caravan started making noises something like that. jack up one side at a time grab the wheel and see how it spins and try to move it side to side in all directions shouldn't have no movement except turning the wheel. they are easy to change out.good luck how many miles on the journey? jkeaton
Unfortunately the car is with you. All we can do is guess. You have to inspect it yourself. Post some pictures and tell us what you find then we can maybe help. dhh3

dhh3
Stuck calipers would put out a lot of heat around the wheels. My vote is for bearings. Journey_SeXT
