2009 Dodge Journey Aces Crash Tests

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The 2009 Dodge Journey earned five-star ratings in a frontal crash and five-star driver and rear passenger ratings for side-impact protection, according to safercar.gov. The federal government pegs the chance of a rollover in the Dodge Journey at 18 percent.

The federal government's crash results for 2009 SUVs are slowly trickling out. The Journey and the 2009 Nissan Murano are among the first SUVs to have government crash reports on file. The Murano received four-star ratings in a frontal crash and five-star ratings for side-impact protection. The front-wheel-drive Murano's chance of a rollover is rated at 17 percent.

The Dodge Journey gets standard side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control.

Those videos are great. Not much intursion into the cabin and with all those air bags...I feel pretty safe in the Journey.

Ya I feel the same way. That frontal crash is really amazing. Man that thing hit hard.

In 2001 I was in a highway headon collision and spent 15 months in therapy, my knees and ankles are still bad with severed nerves. The wife fractured her back in 3 places, intestines were tore in 3 places, broke her left arm major laceration to the face above the left eye, the skin ripped not cut and soo on The kids were in their proper car seats and pretty much walked away. Kids to this day will not sleep over at someones house, we are all very close to each other.

So the safety of the Journey was a BIG selling factor, trust me

ok, off my soapbox now
