redtomatoman
Left cylinder head? Even with the warranty, this cylinder misfire thing is a drag. Plan on 1-2 weeks without the DJ. It would be much worse if you had to pay for the repair, but it still sucks man! Best of luck. Peace. dhh3

jkeaton
The other day I was running some errands with the wife, this is her car, I only drive it maybe once or twice a week. We stopped by the carwash place to pick up the splash guards they got for us (one broke while using their carwash and they replaced the whole set for free). While I was sitting in the car, idling in park, waiting for her to come back, it started idling real rough. She got back in and I was like WTF is this. She stated it had been doing that for a week or so (thanks for telling me!!). I pulled out and it was running real sluggish and rough but then it cleared up and I didn't think anything else of it. The next morning she got in to go to work and the CEL came on right when she started it. Checked the code that evening. There is one dealer within 50 miles of me and they can't get us in until next Monday. I am parking it until then. If it is the cylinder head, I don't want to cause further damage. We have 6 vehicles, so we are not inconvenienced by not having it to drive. dhh3 and 2late4u
redtomatoman
Make sure they do compression testing (both wet and dry) and leakdown testing. Tell them you want the test results. Compression should be at least 140psi wet. I never got a specific number but the Pentastar compression psi is in the 150s when new, I believe. With mine, the lifters were also wearing so they replaced those. Have them look at everything. If they're fine,ok. But as long as they have the engine open have them check as much as they can. Peace. dhh3 and jkeaton

jkeaton
Dang light went off by itself. Hopefully just some crappy gas or something. dhh3
redtomatoman
Mine did the same thing. It was on for 1.5 days then went off. Still, obviously, failed compression and leakdown testing. Left head needed to be replaced. Mine was almost completely symptomless. Hope you still take it in for diagnostic testing. I think leaving leaking cylinder would be destructive over the long term. Peace. dhh3 and jkeaton
jkeaton
A month and some 1500 odd miles or so later, running like a champ. After the CEL went out, I cleared the code and went on a 5 hour trip to the beach, plus many around town trips, wife driving it to work every day, etc., light has not come back on. Ran a can of seafoam through it. Keeping an eye on oil, coolant and temps. So far, so good. Knocking on wood it was a tank of bad gas that caused it. dhh3
