Jcav1227
I have a 2012 journey sxt. When I try to start the car the brake will not depress at all. If I jump the battery, even though I don't think it's the battery,it will allow you to depress the brake just enough to get the car started. Also, this is an intermittent problem. Does anyone have any advice as to what could be causing this problem? Thanks in advance.
bigtsr
2012 could have build date in 2011 and if it's the original battery that means it could be 5 yrs old. Have it load tested , on average 5 -6 yrs is the norm with regards to OEM batteries. jkeaton and dhh3
bramfrank
Once the vacuum is bed off from the system the brake pedal is hard to press. Usually there is enough free travel for the pedal to trip the switch the vehicle uses to initiate the start sequence. If you press 'harder' (that does not mean to apply all your weight) will it start or at least try to start? If so, then this is normal. If not, then look to the battery or elsewhere. jkeaton and dhh3
