Donna Schulte Loth
My dad's 2010 Dodge Journey began making a clicking noise from behind the glove box. From reading this forum, it appears that the actuator motor/ recirculation door motor needs to be replaced. What baffles us is that, even after the vehicle has been turned off for several hours, the clicking will suddenly begin! We are careful to turn off all the ac controls before turning off the motor, but it still randomly clicks after being off for awhile. Is there something else we need to check besides the actuator motor? Thanks for any advice. dhh3
dhh3
My Dodge Nitro and my DJ actuator motors can/could be heard whirring even after they sat/sit for a while. The gears on the actuators that open and close the doors which direct the air flow are made of plastic. So, your gears may be misaligned or broken/worn on at least one of the doors. bigtsr
The built in battery saver feature causes funny noises when it turns the power off after 30 minutes , it could be some gates etc require power to maintain last setting and when battery saver actuates then return to home position. Check the timing to see how long after you turn off the DJ the noises start. dhh3
