kmac171
I just had to replace my front pad at 28,000mi, they were worn to NOTHING. I know it's not my driving habits because this has NEVER happened to me before. Anyway, I put ceramic pad on and now I have a squeal in the passenger from when I put the brakes on. I pulled the wheel off reseated the pads, took emery cloth to the rotor and nothing. It doesn't happen all the time, but about 90%. Any ideas??? Thanks. crunkfrunk
could just be the combination of the ceramic material and the composistion of the rotor that react to make a little film, no permanent solution other then getting a different rotor and pad setup, you can buy the cans of stop squeak from a parts store but it just is a temporary fix

Thanks. they make a brake "gllue". you apply it to the back of the pads. The squeal is the pad vibrating against the caliper. This tacky stuff will dampen the vibration. I use it all the time. You put it on let it setup for about 5 to 10 mins. then install pads as normal. Semi Metallics squeal horrible. After application no noise.
