LisaLeeMcLeod
Hi Everyone - I need some assistance with the proper method to remove a dealer installed sticker from the rear tailgate of my 2012 Journey. I understand dealer advertising - but I sure wish dealers would shy away from this method and use license plate frames or other removable media. My White Pearl Coat paint is now marred by this 'huge' 4" x 6" dealer sticker ... I have to get it off as it is driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. bramfrank
You can usually use a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive and loosen up the sticker and then you can clean off any remaining adhesive using a product called 'goo gone', which is a mild solvent designed for this sort of thing. LisaLeeMcLeod
Thanks - I will try that ... we bought these Journeys used with low mileage ... so the sticker has only been on it for a couple of weeks.
jkeaton
I use the ol fingernail method. Then goo gone or some other adhesive remover. First thing I do when I buy a vehicle. I'm not giving any dealer free advertising. TsJourney
2xRustler
I would take it back to the dealer who put it on. I actually told the dealer if they put one on they would have to discount the price of the vehicle. I'll gladly advertise with a frame, but don't put stickers on my paint. They likely remove other stickers so they have plastic razor blades and paint safe solvents. I worked at an RV dealer long ago and we did this. This also puts the liability for any paint damage on them jkeaton
Cody Chornobey Powley
Used my fingernail on a hot day for the sticker and for the the Dodge Journey on the back I pulled them off

darrenm
Wd40 works fine but I suggest that you wash your ride and apply wax/sealant again to bring back the protection on the paint.
