Mikefff
I got a question .. I have a 2009 journey and need to replace a stud I won't get in to detail on how it broke.. anyways I got the old stud out and need to turn the hub about 2 inches to put a new one in .. something is stopping it ... This might be a stupid question but do I need to jack up both front tires in order for the hub to spin freely ???
bramfrank
Not if the vehicle is in neutral . . . . . otherwise you have to free both wheels to avoid running into the parking pin. Mikefff
Mikefff
Awesome.thanks that's what I wanted to hear .. I have the caliper, rotor and everything off I'm wasn't sure about throwing it into neutral without putting all of it back on since I would have to press the brake to get in to neutral.. (unless there is another way I don't know about to get in to neutral) I'll lift from the front tomorrow and free both tires saved me a bunch of time thanks
bfurth
Just put some of the lugs back on that hub (no need to torque to spec) and don't mash the brake pedal. 3 ought to do it. And then I saw you had the caliper off. Get an assistant to put the pads and rotor in the caliper. Or, just lift the other wheel like you planned...
