lsparks
Had a very strange experience last night. Got home from work and went inside for about an hour. Went back out to go to an event and hit the unlock button on my key fob of my 2010 Dodge Journey. Immediately the panic alarm goes off and will NOT shut off. No buttons on the key fob work, unlock, lock or auto start. I get the physical key out to open the car to see if putting the key in the ignition will help, and nothing once again. There is no power in the car and turning the key does nothing. Finally I try to lock the doors using the buttons on the driver and passenger doors and there is no response there either. Dome lights don't turn on either. Thought it might be the key fob battery but changing that did nothing. Anytime you touch the vehicle the panic goes off. My dad managed to get the vehicle started today but panic will still ensue any time you open the car. Key fob does not work either and you have to manually lock doors from inside vehicle. I've also tried using the other key fob to no avail Any ideas what might be causing this? I've not been able to find any similar experiences and my car is still rendered immobile. Thanks all! jkeaton
Try disconnecting the batter for 10 mins or so. If that does not work, you might be in for a dealer visit. Welcome to the forum.
