Roof rails or cross bars

RAV

Recommended Posts

New owner – will pick up today ( RT AWD).

Please assist with understand roof options.

I have the side rails and am looking for options for the cross bars.

I am looking for the stock cross bars – don’t usually carry anything more than light stuff or the car top carrier.

I am aware that the SU bars have greater weight capacity but they look like they protrude very high above the rails (wind noise issues ????) and are not as sleek as the stock ones.

I see the Mopar Sport Utility bars ($287) and these look heavier than I need –

It also looks like the stock roof rack – side rails and cross bars – can be purchased for less ($215) –

I’d be interested in people replying with options for me as well as recommending links for discount parts.

I have seen the better pricing at this link - http://performancedodge.stores.yahoo.net/dojoac.html Comments on their service are also appreciated.

Thanks

Hi i have the standard cross bars (stock bars) and they are as tough as old boots, great for just general working, had large and very long ladders on mine a few times, odd bit of lumber etc, and the nice trick is they have hook ends for putting the rubber bungee style straps to when you want to hold things down... and i must admit, that they make no difference in wind noise or mpg!

makes a change, but they do seem to be well designed!!!

hope this helps
