journey325
Hi All can any body help. I took my dj for a MOT and was told the hand brake was not working properly.so I put new pads on thinking that would sort the problem as I have done on many other cars. But this time it's made no difference, both hand brake cables and calipers are moving as they should but the caliper piston is not moving as they should, I've tried all sorts to get them to work, even stripped the done, also I'm in the UK and nobody stocks these calipers apart from the main dealers Edited December 23, 2016 by journey325 To add more content
OhareFred
Did you use a brake tool and turn the rear pistons in, not just compress them? If you just compressed the rear pistons in they are damaged and you'll need to replace the rear calipers. jkeaton
journey325
Hi, yes I did use the brake winding in tool, but the pistons don't seem to move when you operate the handbrake lever
OhareFred
The pistons move when you apply the brakes, but not the parking brake? I would start looking at the cables. Something may have broken off and the cable is not connected to the rear brakes anymore. 2late4u
