Roberto Biraghi
Hello everyone. I was planning to replace the stock amber alogen park/turn light with some led switchback amber/white light. I would like to have the same effect that you can see in this video... What kind of light is working that way? This one? https://it.aliexpress.com/item/Excellent-3157-Dual-Color-Switchback-LED-DRL-front-Turn-Signal-light-For-Dodge-Dakota-Durango-Journey/32273955048.html?isOrigTitle=true Or this? https://it.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-3757-switchback-white-amber.html?spm=2114.010208.0.0.S3ShSV&initiative_id=SB_20170110063804&site=ita&SortType=total_tranpro_desc&g=y&SearchText=3757+switchback+white+amber Thanks in advance for your help! ;-)
Charger
Looks like these might work. I've been thinking of doing this as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0110NHJV8/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1484103969&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=led+switchback+amber+white+light+3757A&dpPl=1&dpID=41Vc5cyJ-YL&ref=plSrch

Or are thay the same thing? And also.. Quote It requires 50W 6ohm load resistor & the led switchback only works greatly based on the original bulb has dual function: front turn signal & parking/ DRL on the same bulb. Does anyone have any experience of that? Edited January 11, 2017 by Roberto Biraghi

Charger
Looks like they are the similar but just need two small tabs removed. I don't know much about the load resister. Looks like it is needed otherwise your blinker indicator in the interior will blink quickly thinking your bulb is about to burn out.

I'm thinking this might be the 1st mod the wife lets me throw on "her" car..... sounds simple & modest enough. Hope it all goes well, keep us posted. nehvada
my kit arrived today and i installed it. works flawless but i am not too happy with the turn signal brightness. looks like a accidantially ordered a cheaper/older version of these bulbs. so i ordered the ones with alloy housing today. i'll keep you updated if outcome is better. ordered these today: http://www.ebay.de/itm/371752767637?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT those are probably outdated: http://www.ebay.de/itm/232068692138?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

nehvada
yes! allways. i thought its only for avoid hyper flshing but also the switchback works only with resistors installed. (and i have no idea why) jkeaton

(and i have no idea why) LED's have practically no resistance, so the load resisters are needed to prevent hyper flash.
nehvada
thats right, but it doesnt even work without the resisitors. it only turns amber, no flashing at all, no switchback, just amber. i was about to send them back bc i thought they were defective. turns out with resistors it works with the switchback. Roberto Biraghi
Hi guys! Yesterday I finally install the LEDs. The installation was quite simple. The most difficult part was understand which cable was what.. Standing in front of the car, I have this situation: LEFT LIGHT - Orange cable, 12V - Black cable, Ground - Yellow cable, 0/12V RIGHT LIGHT - Brown cable, 12V - Black cable, Ground - Green cable, 0/12V The installation consist of making a bridge (with the resistor) between the ground and the turn light cable (0/12V) to avoid the Hyperblinking when we use the turn light. Everything seemed to work fine when the engine was just on ACC or RUN position without pushing the brake pedal, but today I realized that with the engine running I have a light blinking on the white/posistion light. This is pretty annoying! Anyone knows why is this happening? Is it beacuase of a poor quality LED light? This is what i bought: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-X-T25-3156-3157-2835-42-SMD-Dual-Color-Switchback-Amber-White-2-X-Load/32706708354.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.DeC4Dh I will upload later a video.. jkeaton
Turn the bulb around.
Roberto Biraghi
If I do that, I have a steady amber light instead of a steady white. Here is the video. https://youtu.be/ceHcyt0Tmxs (the light seems to blink also in ACC/RUN position but it´s actually not.
nehvada
i would guess that the resistor is not installed properly on that side. meaning that the wires do not have contact due to faulty connection. i say that because without a resistor i didnt have switchback functionality either, only one steady amber light. so check this first. judging by the pictures the resistor is at the right cables and installed correctly. it might just miss a steady connection. Roberto Biraghi
I think the resistor is installed properly and the connection with the cable also, because the lights are working perfectly with the engine not running: steady white parking light and blinking (not hyper!) amber turning light. Does anyone of you did this mod? Could you share the link of the LED that you bought?

OlDirty
Have you tried swapping the bulbs, side to side? Might be the easiest way to check if it is the bulb (quality) if one side is in fact working correctly.... Dammit I was really hoping this was going yo work out for you Roberto. Good luck on a speedy fix Sir. Roberto Biraghi
