Mark Lee
So I did the successful swap from an RE2 in my 2014 DJ to RB5 that was pulled out of a 2015 DJ, according to driveuconnect.com the radio should have Sirius Travel Link and Sirius Traffic built in however I have not been able to access them as I dont see them listed anywhere on the radio. Its not a big deal that they are not working but I figures since they should be there why would I not be able to see them on the radio. JesterTA
While in navigation mode, look at the lower left hand of screen, you should see a return arrow, press that and it should take you to it.
bramfrank
You won't see traffic unless you have an active subscription for it - it appears on the upper left corner of the map as a colored circle. TraveLink is accessed through the '+' (more) icon on the lower right side of the screen. This is detailed in the documentation. To check your Sirius subscriptions access the dealer menu (You do this by pressing the driver side temperature 'up' and 'down' buttons simultaneously, along with the front defrost button and hold them all for about 10 seconds). Note that the 'Traffic' entry in that list is NOT for the Garmin traffic service, but for a useless set of Sirius channels where you can select from a list of major cities and an announcer continuously reads out the traffic. The only indicator that Garmin traffic is active is that colored circle.

I have also checked and I don't see a colored circle for garmin traffic
bramfrank
What firmware version is the navigator running? You can see it while the navigator is starting up - it begins with CTP . . . . . . Is yours a Canadian vehicle? I ask because if the vehicle's BCM country code is Canada you will get a 'settings' icon rather than 'more' and no access to TraveLink. Though again, this is version dependent. It says CTP15, the donor DJ was an Ohio car as what I was reading. Here is what my radio screen looks like

bramfrank
Perhaps the '+' sign requires both a US country code AND a TraveLink subscription? I know that my radio was subscribed to TL, but never displayed the option and I just assumed it was the country code. As to the traffic circle, assuming that have a active traffic subscription, do you have traffic enabled in the relevant menu in the navigator? If the feature is enabled then you likely do not have the subscription (or you don't have a 3rd generation radio, which is not the case if your navigator runs version CTP15). JesterTA
I'm going to call Nav repair on Monday. they have an update that updates to the current rb5 software. I will see why ours has a settings icon and not a more icon. I just subscribed to traffic and travel link and the travel link isn't showing up. bramfrank
There's another thread about this where the answers are posted, but I suppose it needs to be included here as well. To get the 'more icon' requires that sales code RSM be added to your vehicle; though why the do this is beyond me, since this is a Sirius feature and could have very simply been tested by the radio the way Traffic is - if you had an active subscription to the service, then menu would appear. Instead, this is like the DRL codes. They exist, but unless your vehicle shipped with them enabled, FCA's software will not allow them to be added and they have said that they will not change it. Admittedly you can get a lot more functionality out of your phone, but that wasn't the point. cody168
I just find it frustrating that some Canadian version of American stuff is always neutered, meaning we don't get the full package even it's built in. Same for Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO... etc.I rather it does not have the function or the same system at all. This will definitely be a major consideration in my next vehicle purchase regardless how attractive the price can be for a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep. bramfrank
Worse is that the Travel Link Sirius offers in Canada is nothing at all like what they offer in the US. So even if you could add the sales code it wouldn't give you the data the way it does in the US. Why? Because they like spending time on the phone explaining why what the manuals say doesn't match the reality.
larryl
We Canadians always get the hind teet especially when it comes to choices for a vehicle build its basically take it or leave it jkeaton

OK, Sirius doesn't offer the same services and we tend to get ripped off for extended warranties.
Miguel Pereira
Another questions regarding Travel Link. On my 2014 I can see on Dealer Menu that Travelink is not subscribed. There's no Travelink Menu to be found elsewhere on the radio screen. I called SiriusXM to try to subscribe and after giving them details they tell me that my Nav Unit is not compatible. The manual talks about it!? Thanks Edited February 11, 2018 by Miguel Pereira
bramfrank
Are you in the US? Or, more importantly, is your vehicle coded as a US vehicle or is it perhaps coded for Canada or some other country? The RSM code is included in th US destination vehicles, but for some reason, some vehicles don't have it and FCA's software will not allow it to be added. Travelink is only available in vehicles coded for the US - the radio firmware won't display the option (which is accessed from the '+/more' touch icon on the lower right of the display) without the RSM sales code. For other markets that '+' is a 'settings' icon. No '+'? No Travelink. Edited February 12, 2018 by bramfrank Miguel Pereira
Miguel Pereira
Bramfrank: As always, everyone in this Forum is very thankful with your knowledge! Thanks to you and to other members I can now tell the difference between SiriusXM traffic and travelink. I used an online coupon and i'm trying Sirius radio (never had it) for $20.00/5 Months. The sound quality is not the greatest. I was trying to see if I could try the Traffic, for the sake of experience. Google maps and Waze always have live traffic anyhow. T'sDee
I have a 2016 Journey Crossroad and I have full subscription to Sirius. In February 2019 I renewed my subscription for another 6 months(everything was working at that time). After that renewal my Travel Link stopped working. It shows that I'm subscribed, but when I push the Travel Link button it says Data not available. I have taken it to the dealership 2 times and the last time they did a factory reset on my radio and it still isn't fixed. I have had at least a dozen refresh signals sent to it, to no avail. If I use the voice command it works fine. I can ask for the nearest gas station, grocery store, etc., but if I ask for the weather forecast it again says data not available. Please HELP! T'sDee
Yes, I have contacted Sirius many, many times and they've sent many, many refresh signals and nothing has worked. I had my car at the dealership on Friday, June 14th, 2019 an they did a complete restore on my radio twice and it is still not working.
