Scott Steinforth
Is it possible to add Hands Free option for Cell phone? F & I guy at dealership was willing to add it for 300. ? Didn't want it for that price, I'm sure their are other options, excluding the USB plug for 20 bucks. Any suggestions? Thanks, ss
bigtsr
You don't provide much info such as if you have phone buttons on your steering wheel. If you do then your DJ was equipped with BT for hands free operation. It should be as simple as "pairing" phone to radio.
bramfrank
If the vehicle is a 2nd generation Journey and doesn't have factory Bluetooth it won't have the buttons for it and while one MIGHT be able to add them and the Bluetooth module, I've never heard of anyone doing it successfully. The F&I guy was probably offering something different than the factory system. What I did for my 2011 was to get a Garmin 3790 navigator which has voice recognition. I mounted it above the rear view mirror and ran the power cord down the right side roof pillar and wired it to the fuse block. Because that model uses a spoken phrase to activate the voice command, the only thing I usually needed to do was to reduce the volume on the radio.
