jshabouk
I'm considering adding a remote starter to my 2015 Journey. Do you all suggest getting the OEM starter from Mopar and putting it in? How hard is this? Does it come with any new FOBs or do I need to purchase those as well? Thanks, Joe
2late4u
to be honest if you have to ask you would be better off letting them do it. even if you do it you will have to have them enable it, plus their wouldn't be any warranty if you do it. my son had an aftermarket remote installed on his Honda and they had all kinds of trouble but they did finally get it working okay. also we have had other posters asking how to get their aftermarket stuff working with their journeys. but beat of luck on what ever you decide..... bramfrank
You have no choice but to let the dealer put the OEM one in since it involves replacing a module that must be flashed before the vehicle can be driven. But even so if I was going to install a starter I'd buy the OEM one. No finger pointing in the event of problems. 2late4u

Blacktop16
Old post but figured id chime in since i have done this. I bought the OEM kit from ebay that included two new key fobs, paid $250 for all the parts(note these are new OEM parts) and then had my dealer install everything and program it for another $200. Had it on there for 6 months and not had a single issue! OEM is the only way to go, especially with a dodge!
