nicklavoie
Hey everyone. I've got an issue and I'd like some input. I'm starting to lean on the idea of this having to do with abs or that anti slip thing on my 14 journey. It's driving me nuts and I've had my mechanic rip all four wheels and brakes and calipers 6 times now and no luck. 6 TIMES! So my car starts a pretty rough and obvious shake whilet I drive, normally after driving for a while. The issue happens usually when I'm going around a bend and if for some reason I haopen to hit some road hazard (train tracks, crack, etc) it starts this rough shake. I used to think i had a siezed caliper but none of rotors are stained with any sort of heat wear. I've never had a light. If I go home and stop the car for a while like a couple hours then it runs fine until I drive a whole and a small bump sets it off again but if I drive and stop the car wait a few minutes and then go back out the problem is still there. I think if the car is still hot the problem doesn't go away. I think I threw it into neutral once before and the problem never went away. Hopefully someone might have any suggestions as I'm about to bring it back to my mechanic and I want this fixes finally!
jkeaton
Tie rods, ball joints, hubs, wheel bearings, sway bar end links/bushings, steering rack, etc.....I'd take it somewhere else for another opinion. OhareFred
nicklavoie
It isn't that all those parts are tight. I suspect bearing sensor maybe but I don't know...

There are no sensors for bearings.
nicklavoie
Re read my symptoms. After I pass over a bump this happens and only after the vehicle has been driven for a while (20 minutes and more) at which point it's all warm and cozy. If it was front end parts like tie rods or ball joints it would be a constant shake.... obviously. Furthermore all this has been inspected by both my mechanic and another. Front end is tight! Dusty256
I would suspect the struts ,
nicklavoie
Omg seriously I better go get the struts changed now!

Dusty256
How many miles on the car .
OhareFred
A speed sensor for the antilock-brake is not going to make your car run rough. Why is your mechanic fixated on the brakes? If he told you there is a sensor for the bearings time for a new mechanic. Did he check for stored codes? Could be any number of things.... start looking at the engine systems. Plugs, coil, egr valve etc. Edited March 16, 2017 by OhareFred
nicklavoie
There are no stored codes. My mechanic said there "may" be an issue with the wires that are connected to the hubs or bearings (k I'm not that savvy on this stuff) which has a sensor for shit like abs and slipping. He said it could be this potentially. Car has 78,000km on it. What is wierd when this happens the car will slow faster than when its not doing the wierd thing and pulls to the right or left a bit. I believe it had something to do with the brakes based on this but all the rotors seem usual not like they've been running so hot and have marks on them or are warping. I tried to recreate it today so I could drive by him and show him but it wouldn't freaking do it today! It has a mind of its own. this isn't a misfire I know what that feels like. I don't think it's tranny I threw it in neutral actually the other I stalled the car, let it coast in neutral for a min then started it and back to drive and the problem didn't go away. Dusty256
Struts , strut bearings , strut mounts . Abs sensors would throw a code . Worn struts will loose damping effect . Best bet is to take a close look at the struts ..
Dusty256
Worn struts will also effect stopping and sturt bearings will cause the car to pull to one side if they are having a hard time moving
nicklavoie
Worn struts under 80k km not miles?
Dusty256
can't go by miles. strut can be damaged , blown seal on the damping piston or . the mount or strut bearing might be broken . just from how you describe the shaking happens after a bump and a turn tells me to at least pull the struts dismount them from the springs and inspect .. not a hard job but the best way to get a good look at the strut system. 2013RT
Its the struts, they are all on backorder. I had the same issue. Make this known to Dodge, there should be a TSB or recall. My strut seals went at 64,000 KMS.
