Jayson Chance
I bought a 2014 SXT with a 3.6L from CarMax this past November. When I bought it, they told me it had a recall for some kind of wiring issue that I immediately got fixed by my local Dodge dealer. Yesterday, the first thing that happened was the traction control light came on while on the interstate and it disabled the cruise control. I stopped at an exit, shut it off and back on, and it went away. However, about 10 minutes later it came back on, so I decided to finish my drive to home and deal with it then. Before I got home, I noticed other dash lights would intermittently flash on & off (very quickly) as if the electricity went out & flashed back on... by the time I got home, the ABS light had come on as well as the engine light. I have the 'MaxCare' extended warranty and have a service appointment at CarMax, but they couldn't get me in until the 7th (over a week away.) In the mean time, I'm open to suggestions of things to try in the event it could be a simple fix. Is it possible this could be as simple as a bad battery and/or alternator? I thought about taking it to Auto Zone to have those checked, but won't waste my time if the warning lights automatically mean I need to have it serviced regardless. Tips, tricks, experiments welcome... and thanks!
OhareFred
Try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins or so to reset the PCM. Keep your appointment in case that doesnt work.
Jayson Chance
Thanks! Now my next problem is figuring out how to disconnect it! Ha The interwebs seem to indicate that the wheel has to be removed to take the battery out... but is there an easier way for a simple disconnect? OhareFred
At the jumper posts. Disconnect the negitive and that should do it. You can always disconnect both, just make sure the positive doesnt touch anything. Yes, the battery is located in front of the L side tire. Eduardo831
I haven't had this issue on my Dodge Journey, but the exact same symptoms on my G35 as you described. The cause was a failing camshaft sensor Replaced and problem solved Jayson Chance

If you refer to your owners manual, it will tell you where the battery posts are in the engine compartment and where the battery itself is located. If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one here: Edited June 1, 2017 by jkeaton Jayson Chance
